Puglia’s rise on the global stage is entering its most ambitious chapter yet. Over the next several years, the region will shift from a landscape defined largely by independent masserie to a premier destination for some of the world's most prestigious hospitality brands. From sweeping coastal estates to secluded agricultural sanctuaries, these upcoming debuts balance international luxury standards with a deep reverence for Apulian heritage.

The most anticipated openings to keep on your radar:

  • Masseria Furnirussi, Emblems Collection (Serrano) | Opening 2027: Joining Accor’s ultra-exclusive Emblems Collection (in partnership with AG Group), this 60-suite retreat is set in the heart of Salento. Nestled within Europe’s largest organic fig orchard, the resort emphasizes quiet luxury, private plunge pools, organic gastronomy, and slow-living wellness just 20 minutes from Otranto.

  • Masseria del Cardinale, Rocco Forte Hotels (Fasano) | Opening 2028: Following the success of Masseria Torre Maizza, Rocco Forte doubles down on the Itria Valley with its second Apulian address. Set within 50 hectares of ancient olive groves, the 86-key restoration is being led by Olga Polizzi alongside architect Luigi Fragola, featuring a expansive Irene Forte Spa and a destination dining program.

  • Four Seasons Resort Puglia (Costa Merlata, Ostuni) | Opening 2028: Confirmed in development. Four Seasons’ debut in Southern Italy - developed with Omnam Group and Mohari Hospitality - will mark its sixth Italian property. The beachfront resort will feature 150 villa-style rooms and suites overlooking the Adriatic, 29 branded residences, six restaurants and bars, a full-scale beach club, and a comprehensive wellness center.

  • La Maviglia (Maruggio) | Opening 2027: Spanning over 200 hectares near the Ionian coast, La Maviglia will be one of the largest private luxury developments in Southern Italy. Master-planned by Oppenheim Architecture, the estate features 70 suites, 35 luxury villas, a signature 18-hole golf course, and a 53,000-square-foot medical wellness spa.

These upcoming properties demonstrate that Puglia’s hospitality evolution is no longer a quiet movement. It is setting a new benchmark for European luxury travel.
